U.S. announces drawdown of 5,000 troops from Germany

The Pentagon said Friday it would withdraw 5,000 troops from NATO-ally Germany in the next 6-12 months. Germany’s defense minister said a drawdown was expected as he emphasized the countries’ shared interests.
