World Tourism Day

Established by the UN World Tourism Organization in 1980, September 27th marks the adoption of the UNWTO Statutes in 1975. Tourism accounts for 10% of global GDP and 330 million jobs worldwide. The industry collapsed 74% in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since recovered fully — one of the fastest rebounds in economic history.
