World Sight Day
Held on the second Thursday of October, World Sight Day addresses avoidable blindness and visual impairment. An estimated 1.1 billion people worldwide live with vision impairment, 90% of them in low- and middle-income countries. More than 80% of all blindness is preventable or treatable with existing interventions โ the barrier is access, not technology.
