World Hepatitis Day

July 28th marks the birthday of Nobel Prize winner Baruch Blumberg, who discovered the hepatitis B virus in 1967. Hepatitis B and C infect over 300 million people worldwide, causing 1.1 million deaths annually — more than HIV. Over 90% of those with hepatitis C can now be cured within 8 to 12 weeks with direct-acting antiviral drugs.
