World First Aid Day

Organised by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies on the second Saturday of September, this day promotes basic first aid knowledge worldwide. CPR training takes 30 minutes to learn and doubles or triples survival rates for cardiac arrest outside a hospital. Bystander hesitation, not lack of skill, is the main barrier.
