Nowruz
The Persian New Year marks the spring equinox and has been celebrated for over 3,000 years. Observed by an estimated 300 million people across Iran, Afghanistan, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and diaspora communities worldwide, it was inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2009.
