National Superhero Day

Created by Marvel Comics employees in 1995, the day has grown beyond comics into a celebration of the fictional and real — the nurses, teachers, and firefighters alongside Batman and Wonder Woman. The superhero film industry now generates more than $5 billion annually, making heroes the dominant narrative form of the 21st century.
