National Corn Dog Day

The corn dog was popularised at the 1942 Texas State Fair, though several inventors claim prior art from the 1930s. State fair economics have kept it exactly as it is for 80 years: fried batter, a stick, and ballpark mustard. A simple technology that has successfully resisted improvement.
