National Cookie Day
December 4th was established by cookie advocate Matt Nader in 1987. Americans bake approximately 100 million cookies during the holiday season, and cookie consumption in December outpaces every other month by 40%. The word cookie comes from the Dutch koekje, a small cake โ Dutch settlers brought the concept to America in the 17th century.
