International Migrants Day

Designated by the UN in 2000, December 18th marks the adoption of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families. There are approximately 281 million international migrants globally — 3.6% of the world's population. Migrants send an estimated $700 billion in remittances annually to their home countries.
