Ada Lovelace Day

Held on the second Tuesday of October, Ada Lovelace Day celebrates women in STEM. Ada Lovelace wrote the first algorithm in 1843 — a century before digital computers existed — while working with Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine. Her notes are longer than Babbage's own description of the machine and contain, embedded in them, the concept of a loop.
